Advocate
What is Advocacy?
Sepaking up for those who cannot.
Advocacy involves promoting the rights and interests of an individual or group, often to stakeholders that have power or authority over the individual or group.
When it comes to advocating for the rights of other animals, animal rights advocates have an important and unique role as animals cannot speak up for themselves. Therefore they are completely reliant on us to speak out against animal abuse and promote their rights.
This also means that they cannot provide feedback on the way in which we speak up for them. Therefore it is essential that there is critical debate within the animal protection movement of the effectiveness of the strategies that are taken up. This is particularly so when it comes to promoting animal welfare reforms.
